Leaked specs reveal the Samsung Galaxy J4 and Galaxy J6’s budget natures

Image
Specifications of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy J4 and Galaxy J6 reportedly leaked. Based on the leak, the Galaxy J6 looks to be the more powerful device of the two. Details regarding the Galaxy J4 and Galaxy J6’s release and pricing are slim. As much as Samsung  is known for its flagship smartphones, the company also churns out budget devices at a faster clip. Not much was known about the Galaxy J4 and Galaxy J6, Samsung’s alleged upcoming budget smartphones, though  SamMobile  reportedly leaked their specifications. Starting with the Galaxy J4, the phone reportedly features a 5.5-inch 720p display with a traditional 16:9 aspect ratio. It is unknown whether the display is LCD or Super AMOLED, though the phone allegedly features a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. Under the hood, a quad-core Exynos 7570 chipset and either 2GB or 3GB of RAM reportedly power the Galaxy J4. The 3,000mAh battery should be enough for all-day use, with Android 8.0 Oreo...

Phones like Xiaomi Redmi S2 should be on your radar. Here’s why.

Image
The  best budget smartphones  are the ones that don’t really make their compromises felt. There have been quite a few phones to fit the bill in recent years, including  Huawei’s Lite models , the new  Nokia  range, and Xiaomi’s  Redmi  series. Xiaomi is one name that repeatedly pops up when talking about budget phones, having a reputation as a leading value for money player. But you’d be forgiven for shrugging at the newly announced Redmi S2. After all, the company already has the Redmi 5/Note 5 family, the  Redmi 5A , the Mi 6X, and Mi A1 in its extensive stable of affordable, yet handy phones. So what’s one more budget phone, right? The Redmi S2 certainly warrants your attention, however, as it’s part of a new wave of affordable, capable smartphones. Show-mi better value for money For starters, the 999 yuan (~$157) phone offers a dual-camera setup (12MP plus 5MP), and a 16MP selfie shoote...

Gmail’s new Smart Compose is easy to use: Here’s how to do it

Image
Gmail users on the desktop can try out the new Smart Compose feature that was revealed earlier this week at Google I/O. You have to use the new Gmail design that launched earlier this month, and also enable its experimental access. Once that happens, emails typed in Gmail should suggest words and phrases you can use to make writing faster and better. Earlier this week, during the Google I/O 2018 keynote address, the company surprised the audience at the event, along with people watching the live stream, with a demo of a previously unrevealed feature in Gmail. It’s called Smart Compose, and it uses technology based on Google’s auto-complete feature in search to suggest the best word or phrases that Gmail writers can use while composing an email. Later in the week, Google allowed the general public to try out this feature with the desktop version of Gmail. If you are interested, here’s how to use Smart Compose. You can now grab Android P DP2’s updated screenshot editor for any device

Image
The second Android P developer preview’s Markup is now available for older devices as an unofficial port. Markup is Android P’s screenshot editing tool that lets you crop and draw on screenshots. You do not need to root your device to download and install the Markup port. Even though several Android versions before it let you take screenshots, Android P is the first to offer a native screenshot editing tool in the form of Markup. With Android P on its second developer preview, some amazing soul on  XDA Developers  decided to backport the latest version of the screenshot editing tool for other Android devices. An older version of Markup is still available, but this updated port includes two new features. For one, the editing tools bar at the bottom no longer overlaps the screenshot and now appears below the screenshot. Markup also features a share button next to the save button on the top right of the editing window. Previously, the ...

Quickly copy a 2FA code in Android Messages notifications

Image
The latest Android Messages update includes a feature that lets you copy 2FA codes right to the clipboard. 2FA (two-factor authentication) codes are the codes companies text to you to prove your identity when logging in to a new system. It doesn’t appear everyone can update to the newest version of Android Messages yet. We all have some experience with two-factor authentication(2FA). Any time you try to log in to an online account and have to receive a text message first with a temporary code – that’s two-factor authentication. Android Messages is looking to make 2FA a little easier by actually giving you the ability to copy the 2FA code in your message right from the notification. Check out the screenshot below, via  Android Police , to see what this means: Of course, this really only helps if you’re logging into an account on your phone. If you’re logging on using your laptop or desktop, copying the code to your phone’s clipboard won’t be much help. ...

According to Google, it made improvements to the AI model that allow Clips to better recognize hugs, kisses, jumps, and dance moves. Whether it is you dancing with your clearly disinterested dog, or your child kissing your cat and getting mauled as a result, Clips should automatically recognize and capture those precious moments. Clips also includes an additional sharing option that lets the device connect to multiple phones. Each device can then view and share content with each other or others over the internet.
